HydroSoft ELITE Maxi Water Softener for Home
The HydroSoft ELITE Maxi water softener provides an efficient central solution for treating hard water. The Maxi unit is suitable for larger households (max. for 4-6 people). Thanks to the intelligent control unit, the HydroSoft water softeners from the ELITE and COMFORT series are the most economical softening devices in terms of water and salt consumption, which is why they can be the best choice in terms of price and quality on the market.
How does the HydroSoft ELITE Maxi water softener work?
- The device is suitable for larger households (for 4 to 6 people with two showers and several other outlet points), where the water hardness ranges up to a maximum of 20 - 25 °dH (German degrees of water hardness).
- The capacity of the device is calculated based on the hardness of the water in a specific household; in this case, for example, with a water hardness of 20 °dH, the capacity of the device is 4.5 cubic meters of water, which means that the device will start the regeneration of the softening resin (cation exchange resin) after softening 4.5 cubic meters of water.
- In water softening, the resin removes calcium and magnesium ions from the water and replaces them with sodium ions. During regeneration, the exact opposite effect occurs; the resin releases calcium and magnesium ions and becomes saturated with sodium.
- Regeneration - occurs with a salt solution completely automatically using the control head. Salt must always be replenished in the salt space. This space can be completely filled, then a certain amount of that salt will always dissolve in the water, which is then absorbed by the resin, allowing for ion exchange to take place.

Intelligent regeneration
Using a microprocessor and an accurate water meter (monitoring flow rates starting from 2 l/min), water consumption is continuously monitored. The control head adjusts the regeneration time accordingly, ensuring that you never run out of softened water.
Counterflow regeneration and Bypass of flushing
The salt solution is drawn in by counterflow, which allows for more efficient mixing of the softening resin. As a result, it is possible to skip the backwashing of the medium (this function is pre-programmed by Danum s.r.o.). Counterflow regeneration reduces water and salt consumption.
Multilingual graphic display
Our devices support Czech, English, Serbian, German, Hungarian, and Romanian languages. All information is clearly displayed in text format on the graphic display.
Disinfection of resin
The control head allows for the connection of a disinfection unit (optional accessory - I will order it). This disinfection unit disinfects the resin using free chlorine from a salt solution during each regeneration. The process is standard in many European countries.
Built-in mixing
On the control valve, it is possible to adjust the ratio of mixed raw water, thereby adapting the minimum hardness of your water.
Soft water in the brine reservoir
Brine tank is already being fed with treated water, which reduces salt consumption and increases regeneration efficiency.
Dry brine reservoir
Prevents salt buildup due to the evaporation of the salt solution and extends the lifespan of the equipment.
Vacation mode
There is an option for "conserving" the device during a longer absence. The function can be turned on manually.
- When turned on, the device closes the water at the outlet, so it is not necessary to shut off the supply before the appliances.
- The control head allows water into the brine tank, then a salt solution is injected into the resin, preventing possible contamination, and regeneration is performed.
- After turning off the mode, the salt solution is flushed out and the water supply to the household is reopened.
Tested and approved for contact with drinking water
The Hydrosoft water softener has been tested and evaluated in an authorized laboratory, and based on the provided results of leaching test analyses and applicable legislation, it clearly meets the requirements for products intended for contact with drinking water in accordance with regulations on hygiene requirements for products coming into contact with drinking water and for water treatment.

For well owners
The use of cation exchange resin (water softener) has many advantages in treating hard water, i.e., water with high levels of calcium and magnesium. However, when water softening is applied to sources such as well water, several issues must be addressed, especially if dissolved iron or manganese is present in the water.
First, the use of ion-exchange resins is recommended only for the removal of small amounts of iron and manganese. If oxidation of iron or manganese occurs before they reach the water softening unit, the unit may become operational and cause resin blockage. As a result, the resin may become saturated and require regular maintenance, such as cleaning with acid or sodium sulfate.
Secondly, a water softener will not be effective if the well water contains oxidized iron or manganese. In such cases, pre-filtration should be used to remove iron and manganese before softening, or one should use such filter material which, in addition to softening water, also treats iron and manganese.
Considering the specific properties of well water, it can be concluded that although water softeners with cation resin have many advantages, we do not recommend their use in this case.
